Outs are the number of cards left in the deck that can complete a winning hand. Pot odds calculate the probability of hitting the hand in relation to how much the pot is worth. In addition to determining outs and odds, players must also consider classic poker tactics, like slow playing a monster hand, bluffing against weak players, and leveraging position at the table. These are also part of the intense calculation that poker players must continually make.
